Lisle 2024 S/S Dae Goryeo Collection: Korean Artifacts [Najeon Chilgi]

The 'Risle Daegoryeo (The Great Goryeo)' collection, showcased at the Fashion Kode 2024 S/S stage on the 6th, has been successfully completed. This collection, inspired by Goryeo's popular export goods of the time, such as [celadon/mother-of-pearl lacquerware/ramie], carries a message of continuing the challenge to introduce the beauty of traditional culture to the world and gain recognition for Hanbok as a fashion genre, just as Goryeo created a "first Korean wave" through high quality and fashionable designs. About 20 pieces featuring the symbolism of each artifact are scheduled for pre-order in October. (The date is undecided; following the Risle Kakao Channel will provide a notification upon opening.)

Based on deep black lacquer, the mysterious brilliance of najeon’s mysterious and fantastic patterns, and the vitality and dynamism within, allow you to once again experience the outstanding artistry and craftsmanship of Goryeo najeon artisans.

📌𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐣𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐠𝐢 (𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫-𝐨𝐟-𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞) This collection aims to highlight the elegance of Goryeo najeon through garments inspired by Goryeo Najeon Hyangsang, considered the most beautiful existing najeon piece, and a mother-of-pearl chrysanthemum scroll-patterned rosary box kept at a Japanese museum. Like Goryeo, which was at the center of international trade and created the original "Korean Wave," we aim to share the beauty of traditional culture with the world and continue to challenge the notion of Hanbok as a fashion genre.

The Goryeo Dynasty was a period of flourishing, outstanding, and highly refined crafts. Examining Goryeo najeon reveals its unique artistry and craftsmanship, evident in the skillful rainbow-like inlaid mother-of-pearl and the intricate use of silver, copper, and brass wires twisted like rope. The ornate and mystical Goryeo najeon exemplifies the supreme craftsmanship of its artisans. Sadly, few examples exist worldwide, and it's said only one remains in Korea. Our people, showcasing their unique skills in the field of cultural arts and crafts, sparked a "Korean Wave" at the center of global trade during that era. Remembering and preserving our traditional heritage is about remembering our roots.
