A place that attracted 1 million visitors just one year after its opening.
Leesle (리슬), a brand of Sinhanbok/Saengwhal Hanbok/Ilsan Hanbokcan be found there.

<Attached to the main text> The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Acting Director, Yun Nam-soon) Seoul branch welcomed its 1 millionth visitor on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 6:10 PM.
Based on 2014, the annual number of visitors was 1 million, and the total number of visitors since the opening on November 13, 2013 is 1,142,744.

I was surprised when I received an invitation from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art to have Leesle (리슬) featured in their Gallery Art Zone.
I had visited the museum twice before.

This is a photo taken during my visit to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art on October 29, 2014.
I was wearing a Leesle (리슬) khaki Majagori and a black asymmetrical dress.

During my first visit, there was an outdoor exhibition of Shinseonnoreum (신선놀음) by an artist.
It was a part of the permanent exhibition.
However, it was gone when I visited for the second time in October.
Inside, there was a long row of marble benches.
It was impressive to see how citizens of all ages, both adults and children, were using it as a resting place while enjoying art in their daily lives.

Hyundai Motor Company has previously invested 12 billion won over 10 years in the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

They also sponsor emerging and promising artists.
These artists' works are displayed and sold at the ‘Gallery Art Zone’ within the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

Of course, I couldn't miss my signature pose!

I took photos and quietly looked around the interior and exhibitions.
But then, I was surprised to receive an invitation to feature Leesle (리슬) in the Gallery Art Zone.
I couldn't help but be surprised.

Actually, while looking around the Gallery Art Zone at the time,
I saw various artworks and creative product ideas from various artists,
'What if Leesle (리슬) Hanbok were here...?' and
I had briefly thought about it.

To think that thought would become a reality...

It's a space designed to bring culture and art closer to everyday life.
It's a place where you can view and purchase works by various artists.
If you visit the Gallery Art Zone now, you can see Leesle (리슬) beautifully displayed.

The knitted hat was put on me by the Gallery Art Zone staff.
I guess my bald head looked too cold....

Amidst a wide array of ceramics, stationery, living (home decor), furniture, and fabric pieces,
Leesle (리슬) takes its place, offering modern and casual fashion inspired by Hanbok.
Leesle (리슬) has a prominent presence in the space.

When I was first preparing to launch Leesle (리슬) (June 2014),
I had proposed to the National Palace Museum's Museum Shop for Leesle (리슬) to be featured.
I submitted a proposal and samples, which were then reviewed.

After the review period, I received notification that my proposal was rejected.
The reason was that clothing comes in various sizes and is difficult to manage in terms of inventory.
They explained that the process of customers trying on clothes and changing them makes sales challenging.
It was a justifiable reason, but...
When I received the clothes back,
they were in the exact same condition as I had sent them, with the outer packaging still intact.
I may have been mistaken, but
it seemed like they hadn't even opened the packaging.
It was disheartening to think that the Hanbok I had worked so hard on wasn't even given a glance before being turned away.
It's a bit of a behind-the-scenes story.

However, 6 months later,
Leesle (리슬) was proudly invited and featured in the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, which receives over 1 million visitors annually.
I am incredibly proud and delighted.

Perhaps it was for the best that I wasn't able to feature Leesle (리슬) at the Palace Museum.
The modern and practical design concept of Leesle (리슬) and the concept of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art seem to be a perfect match.

I am incredibly grateful and thankful for all the love and support we've received.

When asked if we have a store in Seoul,
I've always had to apologize and say 'no'.
I believe this opportunity can be a small token of gratitude to both the Leesle (리슬) team and our customers.

The Modern Safok Pants that were released last week are also on display.
We are showcasing the latest pieces.

The Gallery Art Zone is undergoing some interior renovations.
The display location of Leesle (리슬) will be adjusted slightly.
The mannequins are being removed and will be relocated, so
don't waste time searching for them.

My desire to widely introduce Hanbok is gradually becoming a reality, and it fills my heart with excitement.
Many people joined the Hanbok-wearing movement in 2014,
and some even sent letters expressing their desire to wear Hanbok.
It's incredibly joyful and exciting. I wonder how many more people we can share the happiness of our traditional clothing with in 2015.
