Many students contact me, saying they want to become a fashion designer, ask how to become a Hanbok designer, and want to follow a similar path. This is what I want to tell those students.

------------------ Hello, juniors!🖐 I'll speak casually. I'm a current Hanbok designer (fashion designer) who took the CSAT (수능) 15 years ago. Now, I'm showcasing my work on the world stage, have received awards from the Prime Minister and Ministers, and am actively involved in broadcasting appearances and university lectures.

You'd naturally assume I majored in Clothing Design, but I majored in Forestry Science. It's a completely unrelated field. At the time of the CSAT (수능), I didn't have a clear goal in life. I just knew I had to become something, but I didn't know what. I thought that if I did well on the CSAT (수능) and got a high education, I would become something. I wasn't satisfied with my CSAT (수능) score. After the preliminary score check, I remember crying bitterly out of disappointment. 'With this score, where can I go? I studied for three years focusing on this one thing, and now my life is over,' I thought. Eventually, I chose a school that matched my score... 😨Now for the twist.

Unexpectedly, I went to Forestry Science. During my college life, I got into Hanbok through cosplaying in Hanbok. 🥳I found my calling!🥳 Once I found something I loved, I wanted to learn it properly and do it well. I self-studied by finding books, took classes, followed lectures held in Seoul, participated in competitions, got certifications, and sought out master seamstresses...

Every day was enjoyable and full of anticipation. The CSAT (수능)? I don't even remember why I cried back then. That's how life is. Things don't always go as planned. If it goes as planned, it's fortunate, and if it doesn't, it's unavoidable. College entrance exam = Your future? That's a no-no. If you did your best at every moment, that's enough.
